I believe birth and breastfeeding are the vital beginnings and emotional foundation to memories and joy for future generations. Birth is such a vulnerable time for a family and having a firm support system is the key to a stable family environment. I offer doula services as well as breastfeeding counseling services for the entire twin cities area. I believe all women have the right to choose what kind of birth they want and that education before the birth is key to providing the birth they envision. I provide that education with 2-3 visits before the birth. We go over positions, massage techniques (with special emphasis on the partner helping birth along) and one visit is exclusively focused on breastfeeding (I have over 10 years of breastfeeding experience both personally and professionally). I stay with you for the entire birth and help navigate any questions that come up after the baby is born. If any special circumstances regarding breastfeeding should arise, I will provide support with that as well. I check car seats as well as part of my doula package.

As a former preschool teacher and mother of my own 3 children, I believe having a doula is the key to a strong support system for both the mom and dad, but most of all for the baby. I have worked with all kinds of families from around the world, of all economic backgrounds, and from all kinds of perspectives. These experiences have really provided me with a vast array of birthing styles and knowledge and finding the style that works for you whether it be using humor, distractions, comfort measures, or other means is key for you to have the birth you want. My doula packages include postpartum services and a discount package for families who hire me for both birth and postpartum services.
