Helping women to navigate the challenges and choices in the childbearing year is my joy and my life's work. I believe that birth is an almost perfect process, for many millenium women have been successfully giving birth. I believe in your body's ability to give birth. I believe in your autonomy and your own incomparable intuition. I honor the sacred aspects of birth, and the right of every woman to have the birth she wants. I also recognize the high learning curve for pregnant women today and am happy to assist you in making the best choices FOR YOU, amidst the almost baffling number of options available to you. I have extensive experience working with diverse women in diverse circumstances. All women are welcome regardless of race, class, orientation, or religion. I have experience in natural births, medicated births, cesarean births, homebirths, extensive post-partum and breastfeeding experience. I've worked with high risk women, non-English speaking immigrants, teen Moms. I believe that bellydance was the original childbirth education, and that the sounds and movements that get the baby in, also get the baby out! My love to birth and bellydance combines in my tribal bellydance for the childbearing year, where we explore our growing (and shrinking!) bodies through the beautiful, powerful movements of tribal bellydance. I am a registered nurse with the state of Minnesota. I am the grateful mother to two children, both born at home. When not attending births or teaching childbirth education I enjoy tribal bellydancing, primitive rug hooking, knitting, meditation, reading and cooking outrageously hot food. |
