Traditional Homebirth Midwife: Little Light Midwifery, Certified Bradley Method of Natural Childbirth Instructor and Labor Support Professional, BA degrees in photography and anthropology focusing on cultural, physical, archeology and forensic anthropology, DONA trained doula. Hospital birth and homebirth experience. Nutrition background.

I am the mother of a creative, smart 15-year-old boy and a spunky, smart 9-year-old girl, and an energetic 3 year-old boy. One born at the hospital and two born at home. I was a single mother for 5 years and we practice attachment parenting and natural living.

My husband, Christopher, and I are passionate about educating parents about their options in childbirth and about connecting parents to beneficial resources that advocate natural, normal non-interventive birth and that follow the midwifery model philosophy.

I believe every woman needs loving support during labor that can help in refreshing the labor and birth atmosphere and help with pain management. This can mean having five supportive patient loved ones in the labor room, or just two. It is so important to have trust in the mother and help to instill the trust within herself, to have a safe, spiritual, bonding experience.

I have been trained and continue educating myself about birth, Communication, intuition, breastfeeding since 1992. Formally educated in natural birth through the American Academy of Husband-Coached Childbirth (the Bradley Method) and the Association of Texan Midwives. Attended the DONA and ALACE training workshops. I have worked with single mothers, moms with previous cesareans, hospital and home births. Within my class I have experienced different family styles and backgrounds and I feel I learn more at every class from my students. I am preparing to study for my Certified Professional Midwife qualification.
